🎨 Access Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Winnie, Age 8

Access Art is proud to spotlight Winnie, one of our talented Access Scholarship recipients! At just eight years old, Winnie’s creativity shines through everything she does — from crafting and dancing to running her own small business. We sat down with her to learn more about her artistic journey, inspirations, and dreams for the future.

Q: What’s your name and how old are you?

Winnie: My name is Winnie, and I’m 8 years old.

Q: What colors or sounds describe your personality?

Winnie: The sounds of the ocean — blues and greens. But I also love all earth tones and the colors of the sea.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Winnie: I would want to teleport!

Q: How did you first get interested in art (or music)?

Winnie: I’ve always loved art and music; it’s in my DNA, I guess!

Q: What kind of art or music do you like most?

Winnie: I like making bracelets and crafting, but I also like to dance. I listen to everything!

Q: Who inspires you to create?

Winnie: My mom!

Q: If you could paint, draw, or play music about anything in the world, what would it be?Winnie: Probably sharks!

Q: What’s one dream or goal you have for the future with your art or music?

Winnie: My mom helped me start my own business with my friends — it’s called Salty Sisters Co. (@salty.sistersco). We have a Facebook and Instagram page!

Q: If you could create something for the whole world to see or hear, what would it be?Winnie: I’m not sure, but I like drawing and painting — or writing kind letters to my friends.

Q: What would you tell another kid who wants to be an artist or musician someday?Winnie: Go for it!

Q: Anything else you want everyone to know about you?

Winnie: I also like sports, I love to surf, skateboard, and play lacrosse!


We are super excited to watch Winnie grow and develop as an artist & very happy to have her as part of our scholarship family.
