🎨 Access Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Yenessa, Age 11

Access Art is proud to spotlight Yanessa, one of our talented Access Scholarship recipients! At 11 years old, Yanessa has found a love for dance and dreams of one day opening her own dance studio. We sat down with Yanessa to learn more about her love of dancing, the people who inspire her, and her dreams for the future.

Q: What’s your name and how old are you?

Yanessa: Yanessa and I am 11 years old

Q: What colors or sounds describe your personality?

Yanessa: Blue is my favorite color

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Yanessa: I would like to be invisible because I would be cool.

Q: How did you first get interested in art (or music)?

Yanessa: I wanted to try out something new and I fell in love with the way I could escape into the art of dancing.

Q: What kind of art or music do you like most?

Yanessa: My favorite music is worship music.

Q: Who inspires you to create (maybe a family member, teacher, or someone famous)?Yanessa: The person who has inspired me to become the best dancer is my dance instructor Ms.Jackie.

Q: If you could paint, draw, or play music about anything in the world, what would it be?Yanessa: I sometimes like to listen to Bruno Mars music

Q: What’s one dream or goal you have for the future with your art or music?

Yanessa: One day I would like to open up my own dance studio and become a pediatrician.

Q: If you could create something for the whole world to see or hear, what would it be?Yanessa: I am afraid but maybe a dance solo.

Q: What would you tell another kid who wants to be an artist or musician someday?Yanessa: Keep trying for your dreams and don’t give up

Q: Anything you want everyone to know about you?

Yanessa: For people to treat everyone nicely

We are so excited to watch Yanessa continue to grow and develop as a dancer! Her love of dance, big dreams, and message of kindness make us very happy to have her as part of our Access Scholarship family. We can’t wait to see where her journey takes her!
