🎨 Access Scholarship Recipient Spotlight: Ila, Age 9

We are so excited to introduce Ila, an this months Access Scholarship recipient! At just 9 years old, Ila’s love for music, creativity, and kindness shines through in everything she does. Inspired by her first experience hearing a harp played at a botanical garden, Ila has developed a deep passion for music and enjoys creating her own songs. With a dream of making people happy and using music to share a message of freedom, Ila is already using her talents to help make the world a better place. We sat down with her to learn more about her artistic journey, inspirations, and dreams for the future.💜🎶



Q: What’s your name and how old are you?Ila: My name is Ila, and I am 9 years old.

Q: What colors or sounds describe your personality?Ila: Pop music describes my personality.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?Ila: The power of flight.

Q: How did you first get interested in art or music?Ila: By seeing a harpist play the harp for the first time at a botanical garden.

Q: What kind of art or music do you like most?Ila: Pop and classical music.

Q: Who inspires you to create (maybe a family member, teacher, or someone famous)?Ila: My Lord and Savior.

Q: If you could paint, draw, or play music about anything in the world, what would it be?Ila: The songs that I make up.

Q: What’s one dream or goal you have for the future with your art or music?Ila: To make people happy.

Q: If you could create something for the whole world to see or hear, what would it be?Ila: A song that means freedom.

Q: What would you tell another kid who wants to be an artist or musician someday?Ila: Never give up on being an artist or musician.

Q: Is there anything you want everyone to know about you?Ila: That I’m a kind person who just wants to make the world a better place.
